Instructor Bios

Patrick Connell

Patrick Connell has been working in the web design and multimedia development field for eight years for several colleges and universities including University of Vermont and, currently, Tufts University. He received his Master's degree from George Washington University in Educational Technology and has had extensive training in Flash, web design, HTML, and graphic design.

Kristie M. DeLoreto

Kristie M. DeLoreto is a graduate of Suffolk University with both a Bachelors' Degree in Accounting and a Masters' Degree in Adult/Organizational Learning. She has been teaching Microsoft Office at Bay State College for the past year. Prior to that, Kristie taught Project Management and Microsoft Excel at Gibbs College of Boston. She has an extensive technical background having been at Fidelity Investments where she began her teaching career.

Peggy Flanagan

Peggy Flanagan, a landscape designer on the North Shore, is passionate about heirloom gardens. She holds a B.A. in history from Colgate University, a Certificate in Landscape Design from Endicott College, and attended the Heirloom Gardening Symposium at Colonial Williamsburg. She is a member of the Board of Directors of the Sargent House Museum in Gloucester, MA, and has designed a colonial-era garden for the museum, now in the final phase of installation.

Christopher Kieffer

Christopher Kieffer has studied wines of the world with two Masters of Wine and holds certificates from the Wine and Spirits Education Trust as well as the Elizabeth Bishop Wine Resource Center at Boston University. He has won seven medals and nine ribbons for his winemaking in competitions and has made wine in Tuscany and New England. He is currently a wine consultant for the Alfalfa Farm Winery in Topsfield.

Paula Beaulieu

Award-winning artist and art educator, Paula Beaulieu's teaching philosophy is to be in the moment, and let creativity emerge. She's painted in watercolors for over 20 years, and experimented in a multitude of other mediums. Her work has appeared on Boston’s Newbury Street, and was featured on Boston's Channel 9. She’s authored and illustrated several children’s books, designed award-winning games and activities, and written and edited materials and consulted for an educational publishing company.

Paul Fenner

Paul Fenner has been practicing landscape architecture for over 40 years. He holds a Master of Landscape Architecture from the university of Michigan and is a member of the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA), and the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) He has taught at the University of California, Davis, and the Rhode Island School of Design, and worked for nationally recognized design firms including Sasaki, Walker Associates in Sausalito, California, and EDAW in Honolulu, Hawaii. He presently works for Hugh J. Collins, Landscape Designer, Inc. in Wenham, a design-build firm.

Julie Rose

Julie Rose is owner operator of the award winning Effortless Edibles catering in Salem. Readers Choice has distinguished Julie for Best Caterer in Salem, and the silver award for Best Regional Caterer. With her overall experience in nutrition, culinary skills, business and project management Julie is always designing new classes to meet the ever increasing demand for new food and culinary experiences.
