Expand your career skills with noncredit training

NSCC’s hands-on Phlebotomy Technician Certification Training program prepares you to collect blood specimens from clients for the purpose of laboratory analysis. Classroom and lab work includes terminology, anatomy and physiology; blood collection procedures; specimen hands-on practice; and training in skills and techniques to perform puncture methods. In addition to classroom lecture and hands on labs, this program also includes a 40-hour clinical externship.

This program is intended upon completion to prepare students for the National Health Career Association’s Certified Phlebotomy Technician Exam. Upon scoring high enough on this exam, students are eligible for entry level employment as a phlebotomy technician.

Students who successfully complete this certificate may be eligible to use credit for prior learning to save time and money on NSCC’s for-credit Health Care Technician Certificate.
