Expand your career skills with noncredit training

Pharmacy Technicians work in hospitals, community pharmacies, and health care settings, working under the supervision of a registered pharmacist. Course content includes medical terminology specific to the pharmacy, reading and interpreting prescriptions, and defining drugs by generic and brand names. You will learn dosage calculations, I.V. flow rates, drug compounding, dose conversions, dispensing of prescriptions, inventory control, and billing and reimbursement. In addition to the classroom lecture and hands on lab, this program also includes an optional 40-hour clinical externship.

This program is intended to prepare students for the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board’s Certified Pharmacy  Technician Exam (CPhT). Upon scoring high enough on this exam, students are eligible for entry level employment as a pharmacy technician.
